UP Scholarship Portal : A Detailed Overview

UP Scholarship Portal is known as the Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Online System. The Government of Uttar Pradesh operates the website to offer access to all scholarship opportunities awarded to the students of the state. The portal not only lists the Post and Pre-Matric scholarships, it also allows candidates to advance their applications. UP Scholarship Portal generally opens from July and stays open till December to carry out various activities such as applications for scholarships, application corrections, status and more.

UP Scholarship Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the scholarships, candidates must be eligible for certain criteria.

Pre-matric Scholarship For ST/SC/General Category: Students from reserved category from class 9 and 10 can apply.

The annual family income of the candidate should be less than INR 1 lakh.

 

Post matric Intermediate Scholarship For ST/SC/General Category: Candidates from SC/ST category from class 11 and 12 can apply.

The annual family income should be less than INR 2 lakh.

 

Post matric (Other than Intermediate) Scholarship for ST, SC, General Category: SC/ST/General category students studying bachelor’s degree, Masters or PhD can apply.

The annual family income should be INR 2 Lakh.

 

Post matric Other State Scholarship for ST, SC, General Category: Students from SC/ST/General categories from class 11 can apply.

The annual family income should be INR 2 Lakh.

 

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities: This is for the minority category students from class 9 and 10.

The annual family income of the candidate should be less than INR 1 Lakh.

 

Post matric (Other Than Intermediate) Scholarship for Minorities: Awarded to the minority category students.

The annual family income should be INR 2 Lakh.

 

Post matric Intermediate Scholarship for Minorities: Candidates from minority group can apply.

The annual family income should be less than INR 2 Lakh.

 

Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students: OBC category students from class 9 and 10 can apply.

The annual family income should be less than INR 1 Lakh.

 

Post matric Intermediate Scholarship for OBC Students: OBC category students from class 10 and 12 can apply.

The annual family income should be less than INR 2 Lakh.

 

Post matric (Other Than Intermediate) Scholarship for OBC: Students from OBC category studying bachelor’s degree, post graduate or PhD level courses can apply.

How to Apply for UP Scholarship Portal

 

Candidates have to visit the official website. Follow the below steps.

  1. Go to the official website:

Visit the official webpage scholarship.up.gov.in

  1. Access the student section:

On the homepage, at the left side of the page click on “Student” option to access a drop-down menu. Click on “Registration” option to access the next step.

  1. Register with the profile:

Choose from the list of scholarships. For example, “Prematric (Fresh)” option to get the next page. Enter, district, class / caste group, religion, name of student, mobile no, enter your custom password, confirm your custom password, captcha and click on “Generate OTP” and follow the instructions and complete the registration.

  1. Login with the profile:

Return to the homepage, and from “Student” option click on “Fresh Login” and from there click on “Prematric student login” to access the sign in section. Choose application type, type of course, enter the registration number session (2024-2025), enter your password / verification code, captcha code and click on “Submit” to login.

  1. Reset Password:

If you cannot remember the password, click on “Forgot Password for Institute? Click Here” option to access the next step. Choose application type, course type, name of district, name of educational institution, enter registration number (session 2023-24), captcha code and click on “Retrieve Password” to recover the password.

 

Required Documents to Upload

Candidates have to upload the documents such as-

  • Passport size photograph of the candidate
  • Caste certificate (if required)
  • Domicile certificate
  • Income certificate issued by a competent authority
  • Student ID proof
  • Residential proof such as Aadhaar card, driving license, voter ID, ration card or PAN card
  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations
  • Bank passbook of the candidate
  • Current year admission letter/fee receipt

Each year UP scholarship portal offers application correction facility for the candidates. The correction facility starts from October to December.
